If there are concerns about adding new preference switches, a JSON file for manual editing would also be fine. Or compile all five version, one without the UX fails. Anything is better than ruining GD without having a chance to do anything. We need 2018 4ian back, he would never have allowed something like that. Even Microsoft Windows is currently launching a quality initiative.

When we double-click an object in the scene, it opens for editing in the popup as before AND now simultaneously in the site panel. That doesn't make much sense. If I prefer the site panel, I have to close the popup. If I want to use the popup, I have to click again to display the normal object properties.
(2) Add a preference switch to prevent scene properties from being permanently displayed in the side panel
It is a bit annoying, since the panel is usually only filled when an instance is selected. Changing the background color is very rarely needed and there's already a menu button, context menu and shortcut for that. An option to set a default background color would be much more useful. And to edit scene (and global) variables, it would be more practical to add a menu button in the eventsheet.
(3) Allow a smaller minimum width for panels on the left side
It is unnecessarily wide and since we can move panels, it makes no sense for it to have to be 20.2% wider when they are on the left side.
(4) Add a preference switch to prevent expressions in the eventsheet from being displayed colorfull
It has problems with some themes, it wasn't necessary in the last 8+ years, it confuses me,..
(5) Add a preference switch for sticky header and sub-folder
It's a strange, usually unintended behavior and it flickers as soon as it is sticket in place!!
