Welcome to the SWAO community!

We are excited to open-source SWAO (Sovereign Workload Assessment and Onboarding) as an Accenture Community Edition project.

What is SWAO?

SWAO is an AI-accelerated compliance assessment CLI for cloud workloads. It analyses source code and configuration files against frameworks like GDPR, HIPAA, AI 10 Pillars, COBIT 5, and NIST SP 800-66 R2 -- and produces audit-ready HTML reports in minutes,
not months.

Key capabilities:

• CLI + interactive Terminal UI (TUI) for navigating findings
• MCP server for Claude Code and AI assistant integration
• Power BI export for compliance dashboards
• 5 built-in community frameworks, extensible via YAML
• 7R migration recommendations for cloud onboarding

How you can get involved
We would love your input as we shape this project:

1. Try it -- follow the Getting Started guide and run your first assessment. Tell us how it went in the #show-and-tell category.

2. Contribute a framework -- if your organisation works with a compliance framework not yet in the library, adding it requires only YAML -- no TypeScript. See the Contributing guide.

3. Report issues -- found a bug or unexpected behaviour? Open an issue with the steps to reproduce and the framework you were assessing.

4. Request features -- use the Ideas category to suggest improvements. We read everything.

5. Spread the word -- if SWAO saves your team time on a compliance engagement, share it. A star on the repo helps others find it.

A note on Phase 1
This is a documentation and community launch. The full source code publication is planned for Phase 2. In the meantime, the framework library, documentation, and MCP integration are already usable.
