New swipe feature not working well

Description

I know this feature is implemented and closed now (#4500 , #4501 , #4502 )but I was wondering if there was an easy tweak that could make the swipe more reliable. You can see my finger presses in the attached screen recording and it doesn't add an episode to my play next list in one swipe like it used to.

There are definitely some differences between the old behavior and the new one, because the swipe interaction code was rewritten. The previous implementation couldn’t support our new use cases. It’s quite difficult to match the old behavior exactly, as the underlying code is completely different. That said, the trigger point should be the same or at least very, very similar: once the swipe distance reaches a certain threshold, it triggers the full swipe. Any minor differences that do exist may result in a noticeable change, especially for someone who has been performing the swipe gesture in a particular way for a long time.

Below is the current trigger point for when the full swipe action happened before the change and after it. You can even see that the old implementation (purple line) has even a slightly larger distance to swipe as it sits farther from the left edge of the device. So most likely the main difference comes down to things like friction, finger velocity to swipe velocity translation, etc. But this is not something that we can easily translate 1:1 from old APIs to new APIs.

I’m not opposed to changing or improving this behavior, but it’s not clear what exactly we should change.

Not sure I qualify to comment on this, but the swiping feels very awkward / janky / frustrating.

Hi @MiSikora , thank you for responding! I think you're right, that it has to do with swipe velocity. I've attached a slowed down video of the swipe and you can see the distance swipe distance is much farther than the boundary and it still didn't work.
