In pleroma-fe, there is a "quick filter settings" that gives us a choice of which posts to see, is there such a thing in Mangane?

Nope, no such thing.
You can filter out replies and/or boosts from your home timeline but that's all

Sorry for being so long to answer : you have to go in "Settings" and then you have toggles for Showing reposts and Showing replies in your home feed :
