Issue with Waveshare S3 Touch LCD 2 + camera - stuck on the splash screen.

Hey.
I have an issue as described in the title.
I have chosen correct sdkconfig, build went fine, flashing without any trouble. The device restarted and showed splash screen and virtual button. Any reaction for touching.
At the first place i've disabled the camera in menuconfig and after flashing it runned correct software and everything works except the camera ofc.
Tried different settings but it didn't change the situation.
Camera is OV5640

I'm not really sure what other information I should include.

Has anyone figured it out?

Same problem here. Once flashed stuck to the "JADE diy" screen. When I remove the camera (phisically disconnected), it works.
Also, if I run "idf.py monitor" the device goes through the splash screen and all seems to work well, including the camera. But when I power it up disconnected from the PC it stucks again on the splash screen.
Any thoughts?

Edit: Solved enabling "Use USB JTAG serial instead of CDC Tinyusb". run idf.py menuconfig and in Blockstream Jade you will find the option

I'm having the same issue. It won't change from the "Jade DIY" screen.

I'm not sure if this is related, but I can't flash with idf.py flash anymore even though I don't have Secure Boot enabled.

The interesting thing is that the screen changes when USB communication is attempted.

Same waveshare S3, "Scan Seed" option will always show Initializing and can't quit, "Option - Settings - Display - Flip Orientation" will break nav button.

Sup everybody! same here... the waveshare unit only finishes booting (if cam attached) if i start monitoring it, reading chip info on Flash Tool, or starting Blockstream App. Otherwise, it also gets stuck on splash screen. I tried changing many things in the code, like delays and etc. but nothing seems to work. Also using an OV5640.

I ran into this issue a few times. I just assumed it's either the camera module itself, or the camera port.

The issue never happens for me when I disconnect the camera fully.

These Waveshare devices are just dev boards ("experimental"), so I would expect there to be some low quality control on the boards and components. I've had some crazy readings with a voltmeter on the camera port on some devices. Maybe voltage leakage?

@sandman figured it out! Just one change in idf.py menuconfig: blockstream jade > use USB JTAG serial instead of CDC tinyusb (enable this), build and flash. It just worked for me, and fixed the boot loop...
