Replying to the suggestion of using pre-compiled Smoochiee binaries: this will not work on custom hardware without a physical PMU (Power Management Unit) chip. The firmware will simply hang or bootloop while trying to initialize a non-existent AXP192/2101.
As a non-programmer, I spent 3 days solving this for my ESP32-S3 N16R8 custom build. If you have a custom Smoochiee-based build, you currently must build from source and apply these manual fixes:

1. Disable PMU (interface.cpp)If your board doesn't have a PMU chip, you need to bypass the power check:
   Bypass Init: Remove the PPM.init() call. You can keep the XPowersPPM PPM; object to satisfy dependencies, but do not initialize it.
   Battery Mock: Force getBattery() to return 100 so the UI doesn't hang.

2. Configuration for N16R8 (platformio.ini)To utilize 16MB Flash and 8MB PSRAM:Set board_build.flash_size = 16MB and use a 16MB partition table.Set board_build.arduino.memory_type = qio_opi (otherwise, the 8MB PSRAM won't work).

3. Fix Library Dependencies (.pio/libdeps/)The libraries Chameleon Ultra, Amiibolink, and PN32BLE fail to compile on newer Arduino cores (3.x.x).Fix: In the header files (.h) of these libraries, add:cpp#include <Arduino.h>typedef uint8_t byte;Используйте код с осторожностью.

4. Display Core (display.cpp)Comment out tft.writecommand(0x10) and (0x11) in the display initialization to avoid build crashes with latest GFX libs.
