Coderic Contributor Agreement

This Contributor Agreement ("Agreement") sets forth the terms under which contributors ("You") may make contributions ("Contributions") to projects ("Projects") owned or managed by Coderic. By submitting Contributions, You agree to be bound by the terms of this Agreement.

  1. Definitions

Code: The computer software code, whether in human-readable or machine-executable form, that You deliver to Coderic under this Agreement.

Project: Any project owned or managed by Coderic and offered under open-source licenses such as CC, GPLv3, MIT, or Apache.

Submit: The act of uploading, submitting, transmitting, or distributing Code or other content to any Project, including communication on electronic mailing lists, source code control systems, and issue tracking systems managed by or on behalf of the Project.

Contribution: The Code and any other copyrightable material submitted by You, including associated comments and documentation.

  1. Your Contributions

You agree to the terms of this Agreement before making Contributions to any Project. This Agreement applies to all Contributions that You, now or in the future, Submit to any Project managed by Coderic.

  1. Originality and Attribution

You represent that each of Your Contributions is either entirely Your original work or clearly attributed to its original source.

If submitting materials not entirely Your own, You must:a. Retain all copyright and license information present in the original materials.b. Clearly indicate in the description accompanying Your Contribution: "Contribution containing materials of a third party:" followed by the names of the third party and applicable licenses.c. Follow the Project's written guidelines for third-party materials.

  1. Licensing Your Contributions

Your Contributions to Coderic Projects are licensed under open-source terms to preserve freedom and accessibility. By making a Contribution, You agree to the following licenses:

Copyright License

You grant Coderic and recipients of the Code a perpetual, worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, irrevocable license to reproduce, prepare derivative works of, publicly display, publicly perform, and distribute the Contribution and derivative works. Coderic may sublicense these rights to third parties under the following licenses:

Creative Commons (CC)

GNU General Public License v3.0 (GPLv3)

MIT License

Apache License 2.0

Patent License

You grant Coderic and recipients of the Code a perpetual, worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, irrevocable license under Your patent claims that directly read on the Code to make, have made, use, sell, and distribute the Code.

Retained Rights

This Agreement does not transfer ownership of Your Contributions. You retain all rights not explicitly granted in this Agreement.

  1. Representations and Warranties

You represent that You are legally entitled to grant the above licenses and that each of Your Contributions is original (except as disclosed in Section 3).

Contributions are provided "as is" without warranties of any kind unless required by law or agreed in writing.

  1. Notice to Coderic

You agree to notify Coderic of any facts or circumstances that would make Your representations in this Agreement inaccurate.

  1. Attribution and Public Record

Contributions to Coderic Projects may be maintained indefinitely and disclosed publicly. This includes Your name and any information provided with Your Contribution.

Coderic will respect open-source principles, ensuring Projects maintain licensing terms consistent with CC, GPLv3, MIT, or Apache licenses.

  1. Disclaimer and Limitation of Liability

Coderic is not responsible for verifying the originality, accuracy, or legal compliance of Contributions. You are solely responsible for ensuring that Your Contributions comply with applicable laws and do not infringe upon third-party rights.

Contributions that incorporate third-party materials must comply with the original licenses of those materials. Coderic disclaims any liability arising from the misuse or misrepresentation of third-party content.

Coderic Projects are provided "as is" and without any warranties, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose.

  1. Governing Law

This Agreement shall be governed by the laws of [Insert Jurisdiction], and any disputes will be resolved in [Insert Venue].

  1. Entire Agreement

This Agreement constitutes the entire agreement between You and Coderic concerning Contributions. It supersedes any prior agreements or communications. Coderic may assign this Agreement to its successors or affiliates.

By submitting a Contribution, You acknowledge and agree to the terms of this Agreement, ensuring that Coderic Projects uphold the spirit of open-source collaboration and freedom.
