server will not install on windows 11

Bug Description

When i press install it says failed to load settings *Line 1, Column 1 Syntax error: object or array expected

Did this behavior use to work in the previous version?

How are you running the install script? Have you extracted the server zip before running it?

Yes that's the message I get when running the install.bat its all extracted on desktop as when I looked it up it suggested doing things like that the only difference is that all videos were on windows 10 and I running windows 11 with rayzen 9 9950x3d and 64gb of ddr5 ram

I tried this on Windows 11 and could not reproduce the issue you're seeing - I was able to complete the install process fine and launch the server on Windows 11.

The error you're receiving means that the install script failed before it really tried to do anything - literally on the first line of the script. At this stage, it is trying to read settings.bat, which is also part of the server download.

The issue you are describing only usually occurs when

1. You try running the install script from within a compressed archive. In this case, the script cannot access settings.bat as it is still compressed.
2. The install script is "Run as Administrator". This is completely unneccessary, and deliberately won't work.

If you aren't doing either of these things, can you please provide either a step by step list of what you do from start to error or a screen recording showing what happens. From what you've said I am unable to work out what is going wrong.

Did a full rest on pc did some more digging turns out it couldn't/wouldn't run through java so did some editing and made sure it ran through the right java and its working now
