The substitution at line 3214 should replace lower case eff with * for words matched in fcanno
If however the matched word also appears in the file with an upper case F, this too is replaced.
For example, lift with LIFT will output lit and LIT, fix with FIX will output *ix and *IX
removing the /i modifier seems to fix this behaviour (FIX and LIFT preserved)
