The current way for submitting translations to JCM requires both basic git knowledge, as well as needing to manually modify the json file, which is not a very accessible option.
The most ideal option is to have an online platform for translations along with CI/CD sync, on top of my mind it'd be either be Crowdin or Weblate. However the platform/instance has to be very dependable with minimal downtime and a proven track record with minimal need for any unexpected intervention/interruption, and that's not a decision to be taken lightly.
As a stop-gap, there is XLEdit as a fancier web GUI for modifying translation files. I haven't worked on it for a good while now, but the in-development version have support for Minecraft Translation (not sure how broken it is tho), which if I manage to push it out, should solve the latter option of needing to modify the json file manually. (However the translation submission is still manual).
Currently many fixes/features still take priority over translations (Even though I agree i18n is important), so it's on the back burner for a while now.
