Why is yarn.lock not being committed?

Just wondering why yarn.lock is not version controlled. Won't that result in different devs potentially installing different versions of dependencies?

I'd like to seccond this, depending on package resolution enviroment I've had builds fail, so I
now commit a bun.lockb in a base image and update that manually.
Having a yarn.lock vendored in the offical repro would be great!
