What features can be added for accessibility in dashboards #8

@gvegayon

Description

@gvegayon

This is related to the accessibility project. Some of the features that @tingying-he suggested during the meeting were:

  • Interaction between table and map: click on row and focus map and click on map and focus on row. This is something that DHHS has been thinking about, and they were very excited about it.
  • Tooltip for additional information: There's just too much information in the current versions of the dashboards. Tooltips will help!
  • Adding/attaching tables to visualizations: We saw the example of the wastewater map and table. Perhaps we can create a function that puts both side-by-side (or top/bottom, if in mobile screen). This is related to the interaction.
  • Remove some of the bells and whistles of the plotly figures (too many options).
  • Focused double map: Macro (restricted to Utah) and micro (single zone/area/county).

We need to estimate how much effort would these take individually, and see what is the most efficient approach to address it.
