When using the timer, you cannot take a picture ahead of time, but only interrupt the process

Feature description

I propose to discuss the feasibility of changing the current functionality of creating a photo using a timer.

Why do you want this feature?

I usually take pictures using a three-second delay. But I have situations when I have already started the countdown and I need to take a picture at that very moment, without waiting for the countdown to end (because then the right moment will be missed). At the moment, it is impossible to take a picture like that, because the camera shutter button changes to a cancel button after the countdown has started.

Vivo's stock app does exactly that, but it forces sharpening on all photos, making the result very... instagram-like. In fact, the only difference from the current implementation is that after the countdown starts, the shutter button does not turn into a cross to cancel the countdown, but behaves like a shutter button with the countdown function turned off (but only for the duration of the countdown).

This can be done as the only possible functionality, or as an optional option activated through the application settings.

Right, I have a Vivo phone. I must be getting old.

In my case, they still change the button to look like a stop button for the timer, but it captures the image instead of only stopping the timer. Looks like a bug if you ask me.
