unable to add contact

I get a list of all my contacts with checks to the ones in the group i am in

No i did not edit the screen shot no idea where all those a contacts came from. But i did not want the lost of people i know listed so i scrolled down to the multiple a

What what is missing?
I am using factory android 13 on pixel 8 pro

I started the app. Picked the group i wanted to use pushed + and that is the screen i got.

Is this empty "A" contact also visible in the Contacts tab, or only in this dialog?

Currently, the Actual behavior section contains the same thing as the Steps to reproduce the bug section. Please update it to describe exactly what happens when you open the dialog, e.g., whether you see your original contacts when you scroll up/down, and whether your main contacts list also has those "empty" contacts.

I don't see it any group in this app, but i have more then one contact app (i don't see it there either). The empty "a" ones may or may not be an issue. My issue is when i push the + button i don't great a dialog to create a new contact

My issue is when i push the + button i don't great a dialog to create a new contact

You're inside the group. In groups you can only add existing contacts. To add a new contact to your phone, you need to switch to the Contacts tab. While creating a new contact, you can assign it to any group.

Ok that is confusing The app opened automatically in the groups section.. I'll remember that for next time. I don't recall it doing that before. Thank you.
