Feature Request
I’d like the ability to assign one or more users as “owners” of a page. An owner would be accountable for keeping that page accurate and up to date.
Alongside ownership, it would be useful to set recurring review reminders. Owners would be notified (e.g., every 3, 6, or 12 months) to verify that the content is still correct, make updates, or confirm nothing has changed.
Desired Outcome
This feature would bring proper content governance into GitBook. It would make it easy to see who is responsible for each page, reduce stale information, and support ongoing maintenance without relying on ad-hoc manual checks.
Impact of Not Having This
Without ownership and reminders, pages can quickly become outdated. Teams lose track of who is responsible for a section, and content reviews become reactive rather than proactive. This creates extra work, risks incorrect information being published, and makes scaling documentation harder.
