change behaviour of bookmarks button

I listen to audiobooks when I drive and I use bookmarks a lot. Consequently I want to reduce screen interaction as much as possible. To this end it would be great if the bookmarks button worked slightly differently.

Instead of opening the list of bookmarks when you single-tap on it, it would create a bookmark right away. The notification, that a bookmark was created would disappear very quickly and it would not overlay any buttons, and it would not keep me from clicking any buttons. And if I tap on the notification it would disappear right away.

The list of bookmarks would open when you click on the menu (… or was it ⋮) button and select "bookmarks" (and when you hold the bookmark button and when you hold the backwards-bookmarks button).
