Add Paginated (Page-by-page) reading mode

Feature Request

Currently, the reader only supports continuous scrolling (with WebView or Native text rendering mode and tap-to-scroll navigation).

Proposed Solution

Please add a dedicated Paged / Paginated reading mode (similar to standard e-book/e-Pub readers) where:

• Text is split into fixed pages based on the screen size/margins.
• Users can flip pages horizontally (left/right swipe or tap).
• Page numbers or progress per chapter can be displayed cleanly.

Motivation

Reading long chapters in continuous scroll mode can cause eye strain and makes it harder to track progress compared to a page-by-page view.

Thanks for working on the pagination feature!

After testing the recent update, I noticed a few UX and functional issues with the current implementation that could be improved:

1. Chapter & Page-level Pagination Structure

   • It would be much better if each chapter was structured clearly into pages (e.g., Chapter 1 - Page 1, Page 2, etc.) rather than an arbitrary break.

2. Screen & Text Alignment per Page

   • The text layout and alignment per page currently feel unaligned and broken across page boundaries.

3. Volume Key Navigation Broken

   • The volume key scroll/paging option is currently not functioning in this mode.

4. Infinite Scroll / Continuous Chapter Loading Broken

   • Seamless transition or infinite loading between chapters does not work properly when navigating pages.

It would be greatly appreciated if these aspects could be refined for a smoother reading experience. Thank you!

This depends on sources a lot, most webnovel sources just put it as a chunk of text, we could split it

pushed another pagination pass in r6671. page movement now uses exactly one viewport for taps volume keys progress and seeking, the broken page alignment is fixed too, and J2K still owns chapter handoff. leaving this open until someone tests a real long source and confirms the chapter transitions feel right

I tested the update using the built-in Komga plugin/extension, and here are the issues I encountered:

1. Paged Mode Issues

• Page Count Not Calculated (Stuck at 1/1): The reader treats the entire chapter as a single page (1/1).
• Skipping Chapters: Pressing volume keys or tapping the screen immediately jumps to the next chapter instead of turning to the next page within the current chapter. Going to the previous chapter does not work.
• Horizontal Scroll & Layout Alignment: When swiping horizontally, text is displayed, but the screen/text layout is completely unaligned and cut off between pages (see attached screenshot).

2. Regression in Continuous Mode (Since r6669)

• Infinite scroll and preload chapters no longer work properly in continuous mode since build r6669.
