Does anyone have a way to get the app for the streaming service Mubi?

Apkpure, apkmirror etc are not working for me so far

Unfortunately, the official website only points to the Play Store.

Why not? I mean, not all movies are available from legal free streaming sources (pluto.tv, Netzkino, Freevee, television station multimedia libraries, …).

And not everyone has a movie archive with recorded TV shows, series and movies on a NAS at home (yes, we have one!)

The only use for streaming services like Pluto.tv would be the free tv channels. No legal streaming service (free or paid) provides all content (content constantly changes from these sources). I'm not going to pay a monthly/yearly fee to a dozen different apps to try to be able to reach as much content as possible, why pay to be limited. Besides, most of the content produced nowadays is garbage and not worth wasting time to watch.

I also don't see the point of having a NAS. I don't care to have downloaded media, not when I can just stream from whatever source. And I'm usually not going to watch something more than once.

Free: You just have to wait a bit. Sometimes the content is in at some point, at some point it is out again.
Paid: You don't order every streaming service, but only certain ones and perhaps only once a year for one or two months. And ariennteicher probably prefers Mubi. Let him be.

In fact, private free TVs in my region show the streaming films I want to watch after five years at the latest (usually after three quarters of a year). So I just wait the time, then the automatic search timer on my yaVDR picks up the program on some free (probably private) channel and records it on my NAS.
Incidentally, my favorite show is translated by a public broadcaster together with a private pay TV station. Three quarters of a year before the public broadcaster broadcasts the program, the private pay TV broadcasts it (albeit with the original episode titles (but already with the translation)) as a preview. I don't need it, but if you do … you pay €6.99

It depends on the show. Some are not worth watching. And it's always been like that.

My apologies, you're absolutely correct. None of this matters and this isn't the correct place for a discussion like this anyway. Everyone will obtain media in whatever way they choose but I'll always fly the flag.
