I'm surprised to find, it seems, that samples don't contain info on number of beats in measure
Describe the solution you'd like
I think samples should have defaults or recommended settings!
One shots and loops differ in use, for the latter is it useful to know intended/original bpm, and beats in the measure (sample)?
I had a look at synthdef code as I thought I'd seen something that said how many beats in some /all samples, but code searches yielded no results
Additional context
Trying to see what exists (existing meta data, access to info via ruby or SP), if anyone has done anything similar, to manage samples (especially loops)
With loops ordered by beats in measure and bpm and length I imagine lots of interesting options for hotswaps and randomish cool remixes...
Not sure how much wheel reinvention is required, what already exists to help with this kinda thing...
