Instead of folders, I'd love the ability to categorize my applications and have them displayed in the app drawer grouped by said category.
Ideal customization options:
font customization for app drawer category header (font-family, font-size, font-weight, font-style)
vertical margin/padding around category header (top & bottom)
horizontal margin/padding around category header (left & right)
Enable dividing line (toggle) - see the second mock-up in the attached screenshot
Enable category header background - see the third mock-up in the attached screenshot
Category sort order options (default to alphabetical for both the categories and the applications belonging to a category, but implement more granular control if possible)
Why would it be useful to add?
I think Lawnchair is a near perfect launcher, but I'm not in-love with folders. Folder require a few extra taps when attempting to find and open an app.
This feature implementation would allow a user to simply swipe into their drawer, and then scroll to their app based on the assigned category, rather than peeking into folders and realizing it's not the correct one.
Did the feature exist in Lawnchair v2? (Play Store version)
No
Example(s)
Sorry about the lack of vertical spacing around the category headers in these proofs! I was trying to put something together quickly using screenshots of the current Lawnchair app drawer.
Additional context
Sorry if this has been requested before, I tried looking around a bit and didn't see anything exactly the same.

Categories option exit in lawnchair V2.instead of As mention above i would like the previous implementation.Tabs at the tops and horizontal swipe to swith the each tabs as legacy lawnchair.
Maybe Tabs like in Lawnchair v2 would be a good idea – always accesible at the top of the screen and you could easily change them by just swiping sideways
