047 Firmware

Hi, I have a radio with firmware 047 and followed the instructions to extract it to a bin file and uploaded it below. Is it safe for me to upload this to a different radio with 046 firmware on it through CPS or the openuv008 flasher tool?

I'm curious as well.
I would suggest you download the 047 firmware from baofeng, then compare the two.

I do know that using the openuv008 flasher also backs up the AES256 encrypted data as well as the decryption key on a separate chip, but each device has a different key, and as far as I know it's not writable directly via programming cable.

Looks like it's been added to the repo. There was a note requesting the 047 firmware that also said the repo owner M7OCM could re format the file, presumably to remove the radio specific stuff. The bin file I uploaded is much larger than what ended up in the repo.

Also, on baofeng's site when I looked last it only had the 046 firmware. It now says it has 047 firmware but when you extract the zip file it's labeled 048...🤷‍♂️

Try 047 in the firmware downloads in this repo, tried it and it works okay. By the way thank you for doing that. Not getting notifications on new messages 😞

Thanks, I see 049 is also in there so I just jumped straight to that. Seems to work fine but I'm not really using every available feature yet.
