[BUG] Failed to install git.

After installing 5 fresh PVE nodes i got the first 3 to install proxmenux, but the last 2 are not able to install.

I get a failed install where it is not able to install git.

If you're getting an error when trying to install git (for example: Unable to locate package git), it's very likely that your Proxmox system does not have the no-subscription repository enabled.

By default, Proxmox enables the Enterprise repository, which requires a valid subscription. If you don’t have one, apt update will fail silently and you won’t be able to install common packages like git.

Please verify the following:

1. Disable the Enterprise Repository

Edit this file:

nano /etc/apt/sources.list.d/pve-enterprise.list

Comment out the existing line by adding # at the beginning:

# deb https://enterprise.proxmox.com/debian/pve bookworm pve-enterprise

Save and exit.

2. Enable the No-Subscription Repository

Create (or edit) this file:

nano /etc/apt/sources.list.d/pve-no-subscription.list

Add the following line:

deb http://download.proxmox.com/debian/pve bookworm pve-no-subscription

Save and exit.

3. Ensure Debian Repositories Are Present

Edit your main sources list:

nano /etc/apt/sources.list

Make sure it includes:

deb http://deb.debian.org/debian bookworm main contrib
deb http://deb.debian.org/debian bookworm-updates main contrib
deb http://security.debian.org/debian-security bookworm-security main contrib

4. Update and Install Git

Run:

apt update
apt install git -y

After this, Git should install without issues.
