[BUG] Describe the issue

After I enable the Proxmox certificate for Prox Menux Monitor, I don't have access to the tool. There is any way to remove the certificate and access thru http?

If you have enabled the SSL certificate, to access ProxMenux monitor now you must use HTTPS:

https://ip:8008

Didn't work (either way http or https). Do you recommend to remove the monitor from "menu" and install it again?

I’m having the same problem. Here’s some more information using the curl command:

I've tried reinstalling the whole Proxmenux, turning the monitor on and off, but nothing works. Something has become stuck.

Hi @Mau0x80 and @bievis,

Thank you both for reporting this issue with SSL configuration. Your detailed diagnostics were very helpful in understanding the problem.

What happened: When SSL is enabled but the certificate fails to load (due to permissions, invalid format, or other issues), the server was getting stuck waiting for SSL handshake instead of failing gracefully.

Fix implemented: In the next release, we've added an automatic fallback system. If SSL certificates fail to validate, the server will automatically fall back to HTTP mode and show a clear error message in the logs explaining why SSL failed.

Immediate workaround: To restore access now, you can manually disable SSL via SSH

Option 1: Delete the SSL configuration file
rm /etc/proxmenux/ssl_config.json

Option 2: Disable SSL in the config
echo '{"enabled": false}' > /etc/proxmenux/ssl_config.json

Then restart the service
systemctl restart proxmenux-monitor

After this, ProxMenux Monitor should be accessible again via HTTP on port 8008.
