Add DGX Spark with SSH key

Trying to add a DGX using SSH key but I get the following error:

Connection successful (SSH ✗ SSH to 192.168.220.79 failed: admin@192.168.220.79: Permission denied (publickey,password). · LLM ✓)

The DGX is added but is always "Offline".

Where is the SSH key stored?

• I have installed sparkDash on the "head" DGX.
• I access sparkDash from my own computer.
• The configured IP-addesses, are they from the DGX point of view or my local computers point of view?

I think I am missing something here how everything is tied together...

Got it working using the option "This host (local collectors — no SSH for metrics)" :)

No, this is still a problem when I try to connect from the head DGX to the worker DGX... Where is the SSH key picked up from?

Fixed it by adding the below line to the volume section of the Docker compose file:

~/.ssh/id_ed25519_shared:/root/.ssh/id_ed25519:ro

Is that the correct way to do it?

Yes — that mount is the right approach.

SSH for remote Sparks runs inside the sparkDash container on the head DGX (not in the browser). LAN IPs are from that host’s network. OpenSSH looks under /root/.ssh in the container; the host user’s ~/.ssh is not used unless you bind-mount it. Default identity names only (id_ed25519, id_rsa, …), so a file like id_ed25519_shared must be mounted as /root/.ssh/id_ed25519 (exactly what you did) or pointed at with SSH_IDENTITY_FILE.

The head box itself should stay This host (local collectors — no SSH for metrics).

Documented in README / docker-compose.yml (commented volume) and a short hint on Add/Edit Spark. Recreate the container after uncommenting the volume.
