As a first step for packaging I would suggest that we don't focus on packaging numbast/canopy (or at least not releasing them). Instead, I think it would be useful to package and release the resulting bindings for BF16. @isVoid and I chatted about this briefly . One idea here is to package bf16 as numba_extensions.bf16 . This allow us to clearly define what the extensions are for and enable future packaging bindings as well
