This License Agreement (hereinafter, the "Agreement") governs the use of the "RPS-eXtended" project (hereinafter, the "Project"), including its source code, resources, assets, and any related documentation, developed by the Role Play Systems and Dark Station teams, as well as integrated upstream or third-party components.
In the event of conflict between this Agreement and applicable third-party licenses, the terms of those third-party licenses shall take precedence.
By using the Project, you (hereinafter, the "User") agree to the terms of this Agreement. If you do not agree with any of these terms, you are not authorized to use, copy, or distribute the Project or its components.
2.1. Source code and content explicitly designated as open and hosted in public repositories are distributed under the Role Play Systems Contributor License Agreement (CLA), as well as their upstream licenses (e.g., MIT, GPL, CC-BY-SA).
2.2. Use of open-source components is permitted only under the terms stated in the CLA and/or the original license. Commercial or public hosting outside of CLA terms is not allowed without explicit permission.
2.3. If a conflict arises between this Agreement and the CLA regarding open-source components, the CLA takes precedence.
3.1. All content not explicitly marked as open — including private repositories, server infrastructure, binary builds, scripting logic, tools, or other components — is considered proprietary ("Closed Resources").
3.2. It is prohibited to copy, modify, distribute, decompile, commercialize, or reuse Closed Resources without written permission from the current owner of the Project.
3.3. Unauthorized disclosure (leak) or misuse of Closed Resources may be treated as a copyright violation and may result in civil, administrative, or criminal action.
4.1. Certain publicly available components of the repository may use names, folders, or namespaces such as:
_RPSXRPSXDSDarkStationRPS,RPS-eXtended, or related identifiers
These components may not always be explicitly marked as proprietary, but are considered part of the RPS-eXtended protected scope, based on structure, naming, or origin.
4.2. Their presence in an open repository does not imply open-source licensing. They are provided for integration within the RPS-eXtended project and may only be reused under the conditions below.
4.3. Use of such components is permitted under the following conditions:
-
✅ You must clearly credit the original source (Role Play Systems).
-
✅ Your project must remain publicly accessible, with complete source code and attribution.
-
✅ You must retain all original file headers, notices, and license remarks.
-
✅ You may accept voluntary donations, provided that:
- All core features remain publicly available;
- No features are locked behind paywalls or donation requirements;
- You do not falsely imply affiliation with Role Play Systems.
-
❌ You may not:
- Sell access to features derived from these components;
- Restrict use to donors only;
- Obscure or remove original authorship or license conditions.
4.4. If licensing terms are unclear, or you are unsure whether your use case is allowed, contact:

5.1. Role Play Systems retain exclusive rights to monetize the Project and its components — including proprietary, conditionally licensed, and open parts.
5.2. The Project may accept voluntary donations to support official development and infrastructure, including proprietary modules.
5.3. Third-party monetization (e.g. selling server access, paid builds, or paywalled features) is prohibited without prior written permission. However, donation-based support following section 4.3 is permitted.
6.1. Integrated third-party libraries, tools, or assets retain their original licenses (e.g., MIT, GPL, CC-BY). Attribution is maintained wherever required.
6.2. Modifications made by the Project may fall under the CLA or continue under upstream terms, as applicable.
6.3. If you are the author of upstream content used in this project and believe there is a licensing issue or lack of attribution, please contact us for resolution.
7.1. Graphic, audio, and other media files may be licensed under:
- CC-BY-SA 3.0,
- CC-BY-NC-SA 3.0, or
- marked as proprietary.
7.2. Use of these Assets in incompatible or commercial projects is prohibited without permission.
8.1. If you believe a file or component in this project violates your license or was included without proper credit:
- Contact us directly before filing takedown complaints or contacting upstream hubs.
- We commit to resolving such issues quickly and respectfully.

8.2. Please do not escalate to Space Wizards or the official Space Station 14 Hub before giving us a chance to investigate and resolve the issue in good faith.
Filing a complaint without prior contact may be considered an abuse of process.
If such complaints are made without first attempting resolution via the contact channels above, we reserve the right to publicly dispute or formally respond through the appropriate channels, including GitHub, hub maintainers, or legal counter-notice mechanisms.
9.1. Official servers operated by Role Play Systems or Dark Station ("RPSX Servers") may use all components (open and closed) of the Project without restriction.
9.2. These rights are non-transferable to forks or third-party servers.
10.1. The Project is provided “as is” with no warranties.
10.2. The owners, contributors, and maintainers are not liable for any direct or indirect damages resulting from its use.
11.1. This Agreement may be updated periodically. Continued use of the Project constitutes acceptance of the most recent version.
