open-logic.sty provides ! as an active character for formula (meta)variables. !A, !B, !C etc. can be used to typeset \phi, \psi, \chi or A, B, C.

A, B, C, ... is the default; issue \olgreekformulas in your configuration file if you want greek metavariables for formulas.
