Potential README issue

After attempting to run the application on a newly provisioned laptop, I ran into some dependency issues that were not resolved by following the instructions in the README file; specifically, I needed to install CMAKE (in the process of trying to get it to build I installed a few other libs as well, but it seemed like CMAKE was the missing link).
Could use some investigation to see if that's always correct, in which case the README should be updated to reflect that.
