Current list of "broken" links #56
Description
It is likely there will be false positives in these reports.
Operating procedure is this list needs to be hand validated.
- Inspect the link for uniformity to well known URL standards
- Inspect and understand the context in which the link resides and make an assessment in accordance with the goals of this project
- If you can't resolve it from your browser it needs to be amended, replaced, or removed
- Any replacement or removal should faithfully reflect the content it is associated with
"404 Not Found" errors are most likely to be bad links.
"403 Forbidden" is likely a web scraping issue.
- Simply attempt to resolve it via web browser and if it resolves we will need to add it to the successfullinks.txt file, or ignorelinks.txt if a dummy link or other exception.
"SSL" issues could be related to urllib.request and the nature of web scraping.
- Simply attempt to resolve the address from a browser and make an assessment
