Welcome to Nori, the AI companion service operated by Project Nobi ("Project Nobi", "we", "us", or "our"). Nori is a decentralised AI companion built on the Bittensor network, designed to provide personalised conversational experiences.
By accessing or using Nori through any of our platforms — including our Telegram bot, web application at app.projectnobi.ai, mobile application, or API — you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use our service.
These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Project Nobi. Please read them carefully.
Project Nobi and the Nori AI companion are currently in testnet phase (Bittensor SN272). This means:
- The service is under active development and testing
- Features may be added, changed, or removed without notice
- Data (including memories and conversations) may be reset during testing
- Service availability is not guaranteed
- Performance and response quality may vary
- The underlying infrastructure may change significantly before mainnet launch
By using Nori during the testnet phase, you acknowledge and accept that:
- The service is provided "as-is" with no warranties of any kind
- You use the service entirely at your own risk
- We are not liable for any loss of data, service interruptions, or issues arising from testnet usage
- Features and functionality demonstrated during testnet may not be available at mainnet launch
- This is not a production-ready product
This disclaimer supplements, and does not replace, the general limitations of liability in these Terms.
Nori is an AI companion service that provides:
- Personalised conversational interactions powered by large language models
- Long-term memory storage to maintain continuity across conversations
- Text, voice, and image-based interactions
- Proactive check-ins and reminders (when opted in)
- Multi-platform access (Telegram, web, mobile, API)
Nori is an AI companion, not a professional service provider. Nori:
- Is NOT a medical service — do not rely on Nori for medical diagnoses, treatment advice, or in medical emergencies. Call emergency services (999 in the UK, 911 in the US) immediately in any emergency.
- Is NOT a legal service — nothing Nori says constitutes legal advice. Consult a qualified solicitor or attorney for legal matters.
- Is NOT a financial service — nothing Nori says constitutes financial advice regulated under the Financial Services and Markets Act 2000 or any equivalent legislation.
- Is NOT a substitute for professional mental health care — if you are experiencing a mental health crisis, please contact the Samaritans (116 123 in the UK), the Crisis Text Line (text HOME to 741741 in the US), or your local emergency services.
Nori is powered by artificial intelligence that can make mistakes, provide inaccurate information, and does not have professional qualifications. Always verify important information independently.
- United States: You must be at least 18 years of age to use Nori.
- European Union / EEA: You must be at least 18 years of age to use Nori, in compliance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
- All other jurisdictions: You must meet the minimum age of digital consent in your country, or 18 years, whichever is greater.
If you are under 18, you may not use this service. We do not permit users under 18 regardless of parental consent.
We do not knowingly collect data from users under 18. If we become aware that a user under 18 has created an account, we will terminate the account and delete all associated data.
By creating an account, you agree to:
- Provide accurate, current, and complete information
- Maintain the security of your account credentials
- Promptly notify us of any unauthorised access to your account
- Accept responsibility for all activity that occurs under your account
- Not create more than one account per person without our express permission
- Not transfer your account to any other person
- Personal conversation, companionship, and emotional support
- Creative writing, brainstorming, and idea exploration
- Learning, research, and information gathering (with independent verification)
- Productivity and planning assistance
- Entertainment and casual conversation
You agree NOT to use Nori to:
- Engage in illegal activities — including but not limited to planning, facilitating, or discussing criminal acts
- Harass, abuse, or harm others — including targeted harassment, stalking, threats, or bullying
- Exploit or harm minors — including generating, distributing, or seeking child sexual abuse material (CSAM) in any form; this is strictly prohibited and will be reported to relevant authorities
- Generate harmful content — including detailed instructions for weapons, explosive devices, or mass harm
- Spread misinformation — deliberately using Nori to generate and distribute false or misleading information
- Impersonate others — including individuals, organisations, or other AI systems
- Circumvent safety measures — attempting to bypass, manipulate, or "jailbreak" Nori's safety filters
- Automated abuse — operating automated bots, scrapers, or bulk request systems without prior written authorisation from us
- Commercial exploitation — reselling or sublicensing access to the service without an explicit commercial agreement with us
- Violate intellectual property rights — using Nori to infringe copyrights, trademarks, or other intellectual property
We reserve the right to determine, in our sole discretion, what constitutes a violation of this Acceptable Use Policy.
Nori is powered by artificial intelligence models that, while sophisticated, are not infallible. Nori may:
- Provide inaccurate, incomplete, or outdated information
- "Hallucinate" — generate plausible-sounding but entirely fabricated content
- Misinterpret your messages or context
- Reflect biases present in its training data
You should independently verify any information provided by Nori before acting upon it.
Nori is a personal AI companion for general conversation and information purposes only.
Nori does NOT provide, and nothing Nori communicates constitutes:
- Financial advice, investment recommendations, tax guidance, or regulated financial services of any kind
- Legal advice, legal opinions, or legal representation
- Medical advice, diagnosis, treatment recommendations, or clinical guidance
- Mental health therapy, counselling, or professional psychological services
- Accounting or tax advice governed by any regulatory body
- Any other advice that requires a licensed professional by law
All information and opinions shared by Nori are for general reference only and do not constitute professional advice of any kind. Nori's responses reflect general information available publicly and should never be relied upon as a substitute for qualified professional guidance.
By using Nori, you acknowledge and agree that:
- Nori's responses are not a substitute for professional advice
- You will consult a qualified professional (financial advisor, lawyer, doctor, therapist, accountant, etc.) for matters specific to your situation
- Project Nobi accepts no liability for any action taken or not taken based on Nori's responses
Always consult qualified professionals for decisions in these domains.
While Nori maintains persistent memory across conversations, this memory system may have errors, gaps, or misattributions. Nori's recollection of previous conversations should not be relied upon for critical decisions.
You retain ownership of all content you submit to Nori ("Your Content"), including messages, voice recordings, and images. By submitting content, you grant Project Nobi a limited, non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to:
- Process and store Your Content to provide the service
- Use Your Content to generate AI responses within your individual session
- Maintain memory data derived from Your Content to personalise your experience
We do not use your personal conversations to train AI models without your explicit, opt-in consent. We do not sell Your Content to third parties.
Project Nobi owns all rights to the Nori service, including its software, infrastructure, AI models, training methodologies, brand assets, documentation, and this website. You may not copy, modify, distribute, reverse-engineer, or create derivative works from any part of our platform without our express written permission.
If you provide us with feedback, suggestions, or ideas about our service, you grant us a perpetual, irrevocable, worldwide, royalty-free licence to use such feedback for any purpose, without compensation to you.
Nori is provided free of charge for all individual users. The service is funded through Bittensor network emissions and voluntary community support. There are no subscription fees for individual users.
We may introduce paid services in the future (such as enterprise deployments or API access). If paid services are introduced:
- We will provide clear notice before any paid features are launched
- Individual companion access is intended to remain free
- Payment processing, if applicable, would be handled via Stripe (a PCI-DSS compliant payment processor) or cryptocurrency
- Refund policies will be published at the time of any paid service launch
As a community-funded, network-sustained service, availability depends on the continued operation of the Bittensor network and community support. We do not guarantee uninterrupted service.
Your privacy is foundational to how we built Nori. All conversation data is encrypted using AES-128 encryption before storage. You own your data and can export or delete it at any time.
Nori operates on the Bittensor decentralised AI network. This means:
- Your messages may be processed by network participants ("miners") to generate responses
- Messages sent to miners are processed using pseudonymous identifiers (no name, email, or account details)
- Honest disclosure: Miners process your conversation content during response generation. End-to-end TEE encryption (where miners cannot see plaintext) is code-complete and deploying to production.
- We govern quality and safety standards through our validation system, including adversarial safety probes
All legal and compliance data (consent records, age verification, audit trail) is stored on Project Nobi's own infrastructure — never on miners. Your data rights (access, erasure, portability under GDPR) can always be fulfilled regardless of the decentralised network state. Project Nobi is the data controller under GDPR.
You have full control over your data:

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
We do not warrant that:
- The service will be uninterrupted or error-free
- Any information provided by Nori is accurate, complete, or reliable
- The service will meet your specific requirements
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, PROJECT NOBI SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF DATA, LOSS OF PROFITS, OR PERSONAL INJURY.
OUR TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ANY CLAIMS ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO THESE TERMS OR THE SERVICE SHALL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF: (A) THE AMOUNTS PAID BY YOU TO US IN THE TWELVE MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR (B) £100 GBP.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law.
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Project Nobi, its officers, directors, employees, contractors, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or in any way connected with:
- Your use of or access to the service
- Your violation of these Terms
- Your violation of any rights of another person or entity
- Your User Content
Before initiating any formal proceedings, you agree to attempt to resolve disputes informally by contacting us at legal@projectnobi.ai. We will attempt to resolve the dispute within 30 days.
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, without regard to conflict of law principles.
Both parties agree to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales for the resolution of any disputes that cannot be resolved informally. If you are a consumer in the EU, you may also be entitled to bring proceedings in your country of residence.
If you are a consumer resident in the European Union, you may have additional rights under applicable EU consumer protection law, including the right to raise disputes through the EU Online Dispute Resolution platform at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.
You may terminate your account at any time by:
- Using the Delete Account option in your account settings
- Contacting us at support@projectnobi.ai
Upon termination, all your data will be deleted in accordance with our Privacy Policy (typically within 30 days).
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account, with or without notice, if:
- You violate these Terms or our Acceptable Use Policy
- We are required to do so by law
- We reasonably believe your account poses a risk to us, other users, or third parties
- You engage in conduct that we deem harmful to the service or community
Upon termination, your right to use the service ceases immediately. Provisions of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination shall survive, including intellectual property provisions, disclaimers, indemnification, and limitations of liability.
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will:
- Update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this document
- Notify you via email (if you have provided one) or through the app
- For significant changes, provide at least 14 days' notice before changes take effect
Your continued use of the service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. If you do not agree to the updated Terms, you must stop using the service and may delete your account.
These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Project Nobi regarding the service and supersede all prior agreements.
If any provision of these Terms is held to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force.
Our failure to enforce any provision of these Terms shall not constitute a waiver of that provision.
You may not assign your rights or obligations under these Terms without our prior written consent. We may assign our rights and obligations freely.
