I absolutely love the fact that GPT Pilot is one of the smartest coding AI tools on the market. Lots of other well-known things aren't capable of truly developing a huge app from scratch, lets be honest.
But I absolutely hate the fact that the VS Code extension is barely alive lots of the time. Right now, I have 2 serious problems that make it unusable for me: 1) it tries to update every time it starts, re-downloading everything every time; 2) it says my Anthropic key has been revoked which is not true. There are already tickets opened for that, but I know it's not the first and not the last absolutely deal-breaking issues that I see. I remember I had serious issues with it in the past too, and honestly, the VS code extension was NOT working more often that it was working.
I politely ask the development team to change their approach to develop this amazing software. It's full of bugs, and is unusable and frustrating. What's the point of having such a smart coding tool, if it's not even working at all? I end up using other solutions, but I saw that GPT Pilot can do truly amazing things and I love it - when it's working, of course.
Improving QA takes multiple steps, from changing the whole release process and policies, to using more tools and techniques.
I know it's a free software in its base form, and nobody owes me anything. But whoever owns the company that offers subscription, well, here's your potential customer that is NOT willing to pay for such a glitchy software that works only 50% of time.
