⚠️⚠️⚠️ BREAKING CHANGE: Build System Migration from Make to CMake⚠️⚠️⚠️
#109
This is a pinned notice about an upcoming breaking change to the project’s build system (which is scheduled for 22 December 2025). Please read carefully before the related PR (#93) is merged into main.
What’s Changing
The project has migrated from a Makefile to CMakeLists.txt as the primary build system.
Old make commands will no longer work.
All development, builds, and CI workflows now rely on CMake:
cmake -S . -B build
cmake --build build
Why This Change
Improves cross-platform support, especially for Windows users.
Enables IDE integration (VS Code, CLion, Visual Studio).
Avoids shell-specific issues and inconsistencies with Make.
Aligns with modern OSS practices for scalability and maintainability.
