What could be the reason payment customization do not work on some stores?

Hi there,

I encountered a store on which trying to hide PayPal using payment customization does not work. I even tested the function output by generating an error in it and asking the merchant to share it with me. The function was generating the expected output, but PayPal was not hidden. Here is the checkout,

This store is not on Shopify plus, instead it is on Shopify plan. The only thing which I noticed is, Paypal express checkout button looks different from other stores and its name was 'paypal' inside the function input, not the typical 'PayPal Express Checkout' which other stores get in the function input. The function identified the correct paypal payment method to hide, but the checkout still shows the paypal express checkout button.

How to resolve this issue? Thank you.

Got another one, bratariax.myshopify.com they have 2 payment methods and when one of them is hidden using Shopify functions then the other ONLY payment method is not selected and there is no way to select it. So, when we press button to place the order it shows error that please select a payment method. But there is no way to select the only payment method, clicking on it does not select it.!!

This seems like Shopify checkout bug or functions bug.
