Device decryption broken #5
Comments
This problem still exists on 3.2.2-0 |
Is there a workaround? Or is it safe to search and install an old version that worked? This has to work somehow, as why are otherwise all the newer builds of both TWRP and LOS available…?! |
I'm testing it just now, but I have to reflash my phone. I'll come back with the results later. |
OK. I tested it. Decryption works it's just not offered in boot time. During boot TWRP offers to allow modifications but will not ask for the password to decrypt the data partition. Once you swiped to allow modifications go to "Mount" and tap on "Decrypt Data". Type your password then OK and the data partition will be decrypted. Now you can install Lineage OS update manually from /data/lineageos_updates. |
Same issue and also on 3.2.2. I've tried what @pszabo75 suggested but got nothing. Removed fingerprint and pattern and created new password that is required on boot. Still doens't work. fomatting data does work but as soon as you reflash Lineage you can't decrypt. Maybe it can't find the correct password file? |
I can format and install LineageOS, but then I cannot install updates, since decryption failes every time – no matter if I specify a password, a pattern or if I remove my password. I tried this four times (installing and updating), but no matter what I did, I always ended up with the same result. :(
