Raspberry Pi version?

Is there any possibility that this could be made available for Raspberry Pi? There is a need for a good Serial Terminal here too.

I used to have a RPI build, haven't made it in a long while (lost my RPI4). WhippyTerm has the hooks for the RPI in the code, and the plugin format supports versions for the RPI. I tried to get it to compile on a RPI3, but the build env just takes too much RAM, so I can't get it to finish.

I went out and got a RPI5 this morning, and I will have a look to see if I can get it up and working this weekend. I would still need to make a package for it (.deb) and I'm not sure how much work that's going to be (before I was just building the .exe and using that).

I also had some RPI only plugins at one point. These would let you send and recv SPI using the RPI hardware (I think, maybe it was I2C). I'll also have a look around to see if I still have them, and if they still work.

Ok, I got my new RPI5 and have built a Raspberry PI version (it's a little ahead because I fixed a bug and have to re-release all the other versions). You can download it from https://whippyterm.com/Download.php.

I didn't find the SPI plugin so doesn't look like that's coming any time soon.

I built it on a bookworm (so Debian 12) so I assume you would need at least that version. It needs qt6 version 6.2 or better.

I'll have to make a new SD card with a stock bookworm on it and see if it works for me. The .deb should have pulled in the needed files, but maybe I missed something.

Tried a fresh SD card with bookworm on it. It say it installed correctly, but when I tried to run it, I got an error about libQt6Multimedia.so.6 missing.

It's listed in the dependencey list, so I'm not sure why it's not being installed.

If you install libqt6multimedia6 manually after installing WhippyTerm (sudo apt install libqt6multimedia6) it will run.

Found the problem with the .deb file. It's been fixed. I installed on a fresh bookworm install seemed to work. Let me know if it works.

Thank you, Paul for your work on this. I am attaching the command line install result for my attempt to install Whippyterm on my Pi4. My installation is on a Hard Drive. I downloaded the .deb file to my ./Downloads folder then tried to install it from there. Hopefully this result will help. Try the 2.0.3 version for RPI. One of the problem was the target was set to armhf and should have been arm64. This was fixed in 2.0.3.

What is the output of "cat /etc/apt/sources.list /etc/apt/sources.list.d/*" ?

Also might be worth trying an "sudo apt update" before installing.
