GGMax Enhancement - Lip synching added to play animation script needed #5913
Comments
I think we also need a script that stops the characters speaking when you walk away from them as i've also noticed the sound carries on which isn't goood |
Ye in my demo i had to make sure either the player was paused whilst being spoken to or at least keep them in the same small room with nowhere to go. Originally he was just stood there and i hid one npc and spawned the talker npc via a zone which worked perfectly talking to me at the exact right time However the latest update broke the npc sounds when spawning ( reported already ) so i just had to make the best of it :) |
yeah, I notice when playing your demo the guy at the computer typing was saying his lines and his mouth wasn't moving which was the same problem I had when making another project of mine. Your demo was actually what reminded me to put in the request =) I was making a guard busy at the computer and whenever the player approached him he would tell him to get lost. If you have cineguru you can kind of get around the problem by making them an actor and that works. Having the play animation work with lip synching would be much more convenient though especially for people that don't own the dlc |
I put in a report a long time ago for this. It would be good if we could get the characters to use 3d sound so it fades as you walk away |
thats the thinking yeah, 3d sound mixed with the character speaking. |
Well hopefully this will get implemented at some time and we won't have to make everybody combine soldiers, lol If there were a way to import a dbo file into blender I could probably mod the helmet with a mask. It would at least help with the futuristic style games. Maybe there's something on sketchfab that would match that could be rigged up. Although for the games I'm working on most of them would look goofy wearing a helmet =) You should give cineguru a shot in the meantime. You can make those scenes work with actors it just takes a bit more work |
The play animation script is really handy but I did notice that you can't use voice and have the character lip sync to it. So if you wanted your players sitting at a desk typing it was something it would be cool to have them say they're line and have the lip synching working rather than finding a way to hide their faces so you don't see their mouth not moving
