If you simply want to tag them, just add the labels in the "owned attributes" section at the top of each note. Like #genre="sci-fi", #genre="fantasy", #genre="romance", etc. You could create any number of labels like #datePublished="1991" or #author="Stephen King".
You can also create new labels and "promote" them. When you do that, they appear at the top of each note that label is attached to (and you can make this more automated by using standard inheritance, copy inheritance, or templates)
These would specifically be label types of attributes. There are also relation type attributes to link notes to each other using ~relationName=[specific note].
