I recently put together a code example and blog post showing how easy it is to extend the Experiments the AI Experiments plugin registers:

At a high-level, shows how you can add your own UI (in this case for Title Generation and Excerpt Generation) while still using all the backend functionality from the AI Experiments plugin (in particular the Abilities it registers).
