Hi I (mistakenly) posted this as a bug, now I ask here in discussions, sorry about the confusion! I recently purchased a family Onedrive/Office365 subscription, which includes up to six 1 TB Onedrive accounts. I've configured onedrive client as I use Linux in most of my computers, and it mostly works fine, but for the life of me I can't get it to syncronize shared folders. If my wife creates a folder and shares it with me, I see it in web client (in Shared tab), and Windows Onedrive client sees it just fine, but Linux onedrive client doesn't acknowledge its existence. I have strictly followed the steps listed in documentation to sync business shared folders: removed any prior 2.4.x configuration (there wasn't any, I started using onedrive at 2.5.3), added shortcut in My Files on web, added
When I enable verbose output, it says my account type is personal:
So perhaps I'm not following the right instructions, because it seems my account is definitely not business. But since docs tend to mix business and Office365 terms like if they were the same thing, and my account is definitely Office365, I'm not sure. Is shared folder syncing in personal accounts supported? Anything I am missing? Thanks a lot! |

If your account type is 'personal' - this is what the OneDrive API provides as your account type, this is not determined or configured by the application itself. As such, any configuration such as 'sync_business_shared_folders' or anything regarding Business Shared Folders should be removed from your configuration. To use Shared Folders with this client when using personal accounts, you must do the following: 1. On the webUsing the web browser login to your account, and navigate to the 'Shared' item: Select the folder you wish to add, and add via the 'Add shortcut to My Files' Verify that this is now available 2. Run the clientWhen running the client, and making changes online such as adding a Shared Folder it is always advisable to run the client with a
Please ensure you are following the above. Do not configure any application option - you have a personal account type - not a 'business' account type that requires specific configuration. Additionally, if the above fails to work for you, you may also have a Microsoft Account issue. Please read #2957 There is zero way to diagnose this issue other than you to run the client in debug mode and search for the string If you find that string in your debug output, you have a Microsoft Account Issue - raise a fault with Microsoft. |
