There is no reference image or chart that depics the contents of the file, without one it is very difficult to know what information should be shown or not and debug any GML visor. Also Luciad AIXM viewer is not able to view this file as it is using the latest schema and Luciad is not updated to be able to check. As it is there is no way to actually debug this file.

You can simply change 5.1.1 to 5.1 in the XML file header and Luciad will display it. Please also note that we are developing an "AIXM Graph" tool that can also be used to visualise the associations in an AIXM file. You can find the prototype here: https://aixm-graph.herokuapp.com. There is no user manual yet, but the Donlon file is pre-loaded (see the menu on the right side of the screen). Then you can navigate in a "graph" mode through the associations of the different feature instances.

AIXM graph tool although nice visualization doesn't really seem practical especially for the average user. A simple image showing the approximate features would provide for a clearer first impression of what to expect from the dataset if loaded to any other software.

Here is an example loaded in QGIS, something similar to this should be added to the main readme of the repository. Unfortunately QGIS still can't understand all of the different geometry complex elements although it has gotten better with each version.
