Having one extra word in the search causes it to fail. Is this expected?

I am trying to search for this post:

Notice the HN post title is:

AT&T says criminals stole phone records of 'nearly all' customers in data breach

Whereas the post points to this article:

https://techcrunch.com/2024/07/12/att-phone-records-stolen-data-breach/

whose title is:

AT&T says criminals stole phone records of ‘nearly all’ customers in new data breach

The extra word "new" in the actual TechCrunch article title causes the entire search to fail.

Is this expected? Is it possible to make it less sensitive?
