Any possibility to arrange blocks based on value

Hi there,
Is there any possibility to arrange blocks to a best match based on a value? basically I have two types blocks and every block will have a date associated with it and I need to load them based on date (latest one on top and so on..).
The problem I am facing is that blocks get arranged on available spaces making old dated block available on top of latest published block, so is there any possibility that I load timestamp in each block and blocks gets arranged to a best match based on timestamp .
Please suggest
