input in multiple has fixed width

I've noticed that input in multiple select has fixed width in pixels.
And now it's not responsive.
Why not give it 100%? It works for me.

Not sure if related, but I also have a sizing problem with input width. It its manually set from javascript here:

I didn't have time to thoroughly read and understand this piece of code, but I feel this is wrong and sizing should be done with CSS. For now, we have to manually set width: 100% !important to workaround this behaviour.
ui-select made it possible to use custom templates, and this behaviour interfere with the idea.

Culprit is

ui-select/src/uiSelectController.js

Lines 445 to 447 in 9b4421d

	ctrl.searchInput.css('width', inputWidth+'px');

A better approach would be to change this to add/remove classes, and maybe make use of something like CSS3 calc...although this would break IE8 compatibility.
