Verifying a fail condition

is there a way to verify a failing condition in a playbook?

I mean verifying that a playbook task has effectively failed when some conditions are provided?

Hi,
You can run the task you expect to fail with ignore_errors: true and register the result, in a subsequent task you can assert the task actually failed by testing <your_registered_var> is failed

But in the real scenario, it needs to fail.
I can modify the playbook to register the failure, but the asserting task will need to fail in the real scenario.

Maybe by using two asserting tasks with one not failing and a notest molecule tag, but that would be very protracted at best...
