Description
Proposal: Indian BFSI Plugin
I'd like to contribute a plugin for Indian financial services (BFSI) workflows. India has 1.4B people, 10M+ active mutual fund investors, and a distinct regulatory framework (SEBI, RBI, AMFI) that the current plugins don't cover.
Why this matters
The existing plugins focus on US/global markets (SEC filings, S&P, FactSet). Indian financial professionals working with Claude need:
- SEBI regulatory context (circular interpretation, compliance checks, LODR requirements)
- Mutual fund analysis using AMFI data (India's mutual fund regulatory body)
- Indian capital gains tax rules (STCG/LTCG with different holding periods per asset class, old vs new tax regime)
- Indian market structure (NSE/BSE, NIFTY benchmarks, INR-denominated analysis)
Proposed structure
indian-bfsi/
skills/
mutual-fund-analysis.md # Fund comparison, NAV analysis, expense ratios, AMFI data
sebi-regulatory.md # SEBI circular interpretation, compliance frameworks
indian-tax-rules.md # Capital gains taxation, TDS, old vs new regime
indian-market-context.md # NSE/BSE structure, NIFTY benchmarks, FII/DII flows
commands/
mf-analysis.md # /mf-analysis [scheme] - Deep-dive on any Indian mutual fund
sebi-check.md # /sebi-check [topic] - Regulatory compliance lookup
indian-tax.md # /indian-tax [scenario] - Capital gains tax calculation
MCP connectors (future)
- mfapi.in - Free, open API for Indian mutual fund NAV data
- NSE/BSE market data feeds
About me
I'm a VP of Product at a 15,000-person Indian fintech company. I work with SEBI regulations, mutual fund data, and Indian tax frameworks daily. Happy to build and submit a PR if there's interest.
Would love feedback on scope before I start building. cc @tobinsouth
