Description
As a CFII, it would be very helpful if I could have my students and myself draw on plates and charts and be able to have them transfer between multiple devices and be saved for future use. Ideally the width and color of the drawing would be adjustable, so it could be used for highlighting as well. Rather than a whole drawing being deleted, there would be an option to either erase parts of it with an eraser feature or at least erase the last part if a mistake is made. This would allow students to mark up the chart and send the drawing and associated flight plan to their instructor, and then for the instructor to edit it and send it back. Checkpoints and landmarks could be added to the chart using the drawing feature as well as important notes. This would also make the markings durable for use during flight, which would be particularly important should the GPS signal be lost. This would eliminate the need for paper charts for teaching students on how to select checkpoints and landmarks for pilotage and dead reckoning use, so that they would not becomes overly dependent on GPS availability. It would also completely eliminate the need for backup charts should the GPS signal be lost for any reason. I have donated in the past and made a similar request with no response, possibly not submitted correctly. This is important enough to me and my students that I would be willing to make a substantial contribution. For now this would need to be on the Android app as Avare x still has a long way to go.
