I've tried:
fish <(curl https://raw.githubusercontent.com/ellie/atuin/main/install.sh)
and
bash <(curl https://raw.githubusercontent.com/ellie/atuin/main/install.sh)

and the output is always:
fish: Invalid redirection target:
fish <(curl https://raw.githubusercontent.com/ellie/atuin/main/install.sh)
or
fish: Invalid redirection target:
bash <(curl https://raw.githubusercontent.com/ellie/atuin/main/install.sh)
(when i enter: bash <(curl https://raw.githubusercontent.com/ellie/atuin/main/install.sh))

OS: Debian GNU/Linux 11 (bullseye) x86_64
Shell: fish 3.5.1
Terminal: konsole

thanks!

You can't do that on fish, proper command is curl https://raw.githubusercontent.com/ellie/atuin/main/install.sh | bash

The installation instructions do not work for fish, because of this invalid redirection target error. Here's is the command that one is instructed to run to install atuin, found on the home page:

bash <(curl --proto '=https' --tlsv1.2 -sSf https://setup.atuin.sh)

A similar line is also found in the first page of the docs:

bash <(curl https://raw.githubusercontent.com/ellie/atuin/main/install.sh)

Another similar line is also found in the README.md file:

bash <(curl https://raw.githubusercontent.com/atuinsh/atuin/main/install.sh)

(By the way, it's a bit concerning that the URLs don't match.)

I propose changing it to:

curl https://raw.githubusercontent.com/atuinsh/atuin/main/install.sh | bash

This will work in Bash, Zsh, and Fish, and presumably other shells too.

Unfortunately curl | bash means we cannot read stdin, and there are several points in the install script where this is required

Ah, that makes sense. In that case, the correct equivalent for the Fish shell is this:

bash (curl --proto '=https' --tlsv1.2 -sSf https://setup.atuin.sh | psub)

This is mentioned in the README.md, but not on the website.

This is mentioned in the README.md, but not on the website.

It's everywhere except the homepage right now. I'll need to rework it to allow for multiple options
