kept getting hostname does not match the server certificate when trying to download S3 archive.

Stack settings is as below without username and password because it's a public archive.
Use custom Chef cookbooks: yes Repository type: S3 Archive Repository URL: https://s3.amazonaws.com/opsworks.issue.by/cookbooks-elasticsearch-1.7.3.tar.gz User name: Password:
workaround is to use HTTP Archive as Repository type. Is this an expected behavior, or stack setting is incorrect for S3 Archive?
