Creating directories from the Convert plugin

My first time using beets, so probably a misconfiguration:

When I try to run beet convert for the first time, album directories are not created, for albums which require conversion. This causes ffmpeg to crash for these tracks, as it expects the destination directory to exist, I am using never_convert_lossy_files: yes in my config so that compressed files are copied. Those are copied to the destination as expected.

This is possibly a threading problem: If I set threads: 1 in the config, then the album directories are created correctly.

Hmm; that seems bad! Any chance you could include a verbose log (beet -vv convert) showing the output for when this went wrong?

In the code, here's where the plugin is supposed to create the destination directory before running the conversion, for every file:

I'm pretty much stumped w/r/t how that could be not doing the intended thing.

Hmm, it's late here, and I'm tired. I've probably made a mistake again, but now something even weirder is going on:

$ beet -vv convert Chupacabra
configuration error: /Volumes/Red1/beetz/c could not be read: [Errno 2] No such file or directory: '/Volumes/Red1/beetz/c'

Config is as above, except I've removed the commented-out threads line. Note that " /Volumes/Red1/beetz/c" is not specified anywhere.
I think I should try re-installing...

Well, this is extremely weird… this message happens when beets can't even find its configuration file. I'm guessing you haven't set BEETSCONFIG or similar to point to a nonstandard location, so it seems like something is really wrong… not sure why it would look there instead of ~/.config/beets.

I tried this again a few days later. Everything works fine. The only thing I can think of is that something went bad somehow in the ssh session to the remote machine running beets.
