fromlogo does not show the image

Hello,

I have a defaults.lco file like this:

\ProvidesFile{defaults.lco}

\setkomavar{fromlogo}{logo.png}
\KOMAoptions{fromlogo=true}
`

But this only shows the text "logo.png". I tried different statements with includegraphics, but nothing worked.

How should I insert a fromlogo?

Just for information:
As template, I used https://raw.githubusercontent.com/benedictdudel/pandoc-letter-din5008/master/letter.latex

And in the md-file, I only added the details-file

And my call for building was:
pandoc letter.md --log=logfile -o letter.pdf --template="./myletter.latex"
